@james21168345 breaks are taken so often because of all the gear and hitting there doing. If they had that in soccer they’d need breaks too. But I can understand how running 90 min no hitting anyone cept a ball doesn’t get you tired like a 60 min american football game would.

People think wearing pads is for protection but its not the main reason. It gives you more freedom to throw your whole but into someone and inflict as much pain as you want and not get hurt. I play rugby and its not as physical as american football but its definitely more tiring. Wearing gear like that allows you to hit harder in american football. I’ve tried making the same hits in rugby and its illegal. Rugby is hard but american footballs harder in terms of contact.
